Our Story

Mandy Pesskin has traded a retail food concept in Cape Town South Africa called The Fat Cactus, https://fatcactus.co.za/. There are now six Cactus restaurants operating very successfully which have been rolled out by Mandy for over thirty years. Mandy brings her creative and business expertise to this Borough Market opportunity and the launch of James & Jo. You will hopefully agree, when you read this submission, that the J&J concept meets your requirements to describe an innovative and exciting Café concept. I am sure you will agree that the menu description can only have been developed by someone with Mandy’s flair and experience.

Alan Pesskin has worked as a property developer for fifteen years, helping to found a business called British Health Enterprise, which created large NHS main entrance retail centres (similar to airport retailing). The business achieved a great deal of success, for the benefit of staff, patients and visitors. The ownership of the developments ultimately vests with the NHS.
